My name is Christine Murphy. I am a wife, mother of two adult sons and I have three grandchildren. I am the founder of My Unique Creations which was birthed November 2017 through a series of difficult circumstances. By February 2018 I realized that God was leading me to become a business owner. During that time I found myself visiting small boutiques and resale shops to qualify as a vendor but sadly their response was less than favorable. Although I was seeking answers on a road less travelled; I was determined to break barriers and become an example to my family.
I find my roots in the Caribbean on the island of Jamaica. I was born into poverty to a single mother and when I was six years old she made a critical decision to give me away to another family. Today at 58 years old I know that my heart is firmly planted and at home in Texas.
In the beginning God guided me to use my one of a kind handcrafted totes as a ministry tool because I had a desire to celebrate other women. In turn I found a way to share my gift while perfecting my craft.
In March 2020, God used the Pandemic to light a fire which ignited an entrepreneurial spirit once I found my new reality as a member of the unemployment community. With great resolve and determination I felt it was time to take the risk and go “all in”. My efforts have been successful and my business has grown from one of a kind handcrafted totes to now include T-shirts and many other accessories because I have a passion to celebrate our rich history and shed a positive light on our diverse culture.
I did not do this alone!! Each level brought unique challenges but God orchestrated His strategic plan by placing key people into my life to encourage me to fight tirelessly for my vision. As a business owner and entrepreneur, facing an unfamiliar territory and mountainous terrain - I was forced to rely very heavily on my “Ultimate Guide” and His hand has been upon me every step of the way. The journey has given me much wisdom, forged new relationships and enlarged my sphere of influence.
